I found your site through ministrywatch.com and Mission Network News. My husband and I are on the board with Amber Outreach Project, a non-profit that currently supports one orphanage in Titanyen, Haiti. It is awesome to see other organizations with the same heart. We understand the problems associated with disbursing goods in Haiti out of the ports and will be praying with you. Thank you for spreading Love through the work that you do!

I love your site !!! And the song " There is Love". I read it for hours... I have participated in medical missions to Haiti 7 times, and am planning to return in March, 2008. Can't wait, as there is always something saying ,"GO BACK !!! " Planning to take my 18 year-old daughter, too. She has been wanting to go for a long time. I feel the time is right . She will be on spring break from college. Bless all of you and our wonderful Haitian brothers and sisters.

And I start thinking how we met Don in Pilate, how he was compassionate about us, how he help us growing Lynda and I, sent us to school, feed us, rented house for us and mother and so on, so on... Now I can say If I have life, if I become a man, if I can get married and have a family that because of him. All the time I was very thankfull to him and For Haiti with Love, and thanking God for helping me thru mr Don. May his work continue, and may For Haiti With Love stands for ever in honor to his name.

Praise God for folks willing to step out of their comfort zone and give to the ones that need our help. Our prayers are with you and the great work you are doing. Maybe one day I can return to Haiti and fulfill the dream of seeing their beautiful faces again and rejoicing in their love for a Savior that loves us all. We can't understand why all this with our finite minds, but praise God, one day we will know and understand it all. God is so good.

I,too, am in love with Haiti, having been there on many mission trips to help the wonderful Haitien people. The opportunities for Christian service God gives us are overwhelming, but we benefit maybe more than do those we help. Our rewards are to see that material things are so unimportant compared to the Eternal values. I like your web site very much.

I spent the rest of the afternoon reading about For Haiti With Love. I can truly tell you that this is LOVE. Not the word spoken. I'm originally from Haiti; I left my country twenty (20) years ago I still cannot believe that I have been so long out of my country because my heart is still there regardless. At work, people keep asking me why do you want to go back despite of all that is going on but like said our little 'dicton' (lakay se lakay, Home is Home). I want to help my people back from what I got from them because without my education in Haiti, I will never be where I'm now. I left home sixth out of seven children the first one to be gone; I spent about nine years in France and another six in Canada and now I'm here in America where I met with Jesus and since then my life has been changed. Haitians that I read who want to go back home to help; don't let the desire died; Haiti needs us, we cannot let Haiti down, our people need us; we cannot just enjoyed the freedom, having food and the wealthy life and forget about them. I will be looking to learn from For Haiti with Love who has some great experience. I checked the pictures of Roseline from the very first day she met Mr. Don to her graduation, I'm sitting behind my computer at work and I was just in tears of joy. What a transformation! What a commitment! May the glory of the Lord be manifested? I pray that the Almighty God will continue to bless you and the work you are doing. My deep respect, Paulette, 10/05/2004

I am so moved by the plight of this country and it's suffering people, that I must take action in whatever way that I can. The power of one is what every individual should say to themselves and then proceed with giving anything possible. Time to roll up my sleeves. Where do I begin. FHL RESPONSE: We need funding to buy rice in Haiti at $28 per 100# bag. We already have beans there. They need food.

We have gotten to help our brothers and sisters. It is my belief that the US citizens should help organize the efforts to assist our brothers and sisters. We are blessed. I watch as our people injured themselves and others in desperate attempts to get the needed basic supplies. If we sent the abundance we are able to send, then they wouldn’t have to scurry to the resources being sent. Let’s be real, judgment will come to those who know to do right but don’t bother…….

Just read the Guestbook and realized I had never signed in. I have a Haitian niece, her name is Roseline DeHart. Yes, Eva is my sister and Don my brother-in-law. God first opened the doors of Haiti through my church. As you have read in the guest book, part of your heart stays there. The next 2 times God opened the doors were with "For Haiti with Love". I worked with dental teams both times.(using flashlights) That was a long time ago, they now have generators! Praise the Lord! I could support a lot of charities through my church etc., but as Jim Stone of Ruskin, FL said in the Guestbook, he had been to Cap Haitien and saw for himself. "For Haiti With Love" has it in the right order. What would Jesus do? "...I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink...I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me" Matthew 25:35-40

It is hard to believe that only a year ago myself, my husband and 20 others from our mission team were down there to bring whatever we could of ourselves to help. I can only imagine what people must be going through already poor, hungry, desperate and even more so now. The hope we all have though, is Jesus. The christian people in Haiti trust and hope in a God who will deliver them and this can be an encouragement to us. We continue to pray for those who know Christ for strength and those who don't know Him that they will soon. God bless you for all your efforts, for the efforts many of us would like to make but cannot right now. You are in our prayers and in God's hands.

What a joy and encouragement to visit your site and see the number of people with hearts for Haiti. We visited Haiti in 1975 on our honeymoon. Since then, we have been ministering to kids in Ontario for almost 30 years and now the Lord is directing us to become involved with the children in Haiti.
May God bless and protect all the servants in Haiti during these challenging days. Richard

Warms my heart to find others out there caring for Haiti. I was there on a medical/construction team in 1987 and was marked forever by the smiles of the people. We are adopting from Haiti now and are waiting and waiting for our daughter to come home. Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. You are the helper of the fatherless.

Our family has certainly enjoyed your website. We have been acquainted with a Haitian family (Bro. Gabriel and Leah Douyon, Port au Prince)approximately 1978 -1980. this couple stayed in our home. Our church also supports a Haitian man who ministers to Haitians in South Florida, Bro. Luke Harrigan, who has also been our houseguest. We have three adopted biracial children and they have enjoyed learning about Haiti and seeing the photos on your website. At present we are praying for peace in that country. Bro. Douyon was the radio dispatcher at the port when we knew him. He had sons Sidney and Arthur, daughters Nicole and Claudia.

Glory, Haiti has a large part of my heart and I'm so thankful for the work you are doing. I went on short term trips to Haiti in 1981 through 1984. We always flew into Port Prince and worked in outlying areas. First year we helped build a church at Saisson and then went back the next year to put in lights, benchs, etc. These year we did sewing, bible school, dental and medical work. One time we went to Jerimie and did the same work. 1983 I helped a doctor and three young men studing medicine to distribute medicines and some small operations. We went to a lot of different churches and villages. I talked with Eva for a very long time 12/08/03 and was blessed to hear of all the work you are doing there. By the way our pastor at Waukeenah United Methodist Church is Anthony Tolson, who was Eva's daughter's youth pastor. He will be getting in touch with you about maybe going next year. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the service of others and! most of all God.

I was surfing the net to find some pictures of Haiti to put on a project that I'm doing in school and found this site. It is a very intersting site with a lot of educative resources of Haiti. I think this is a great job you're doing. It requires someone with spirit, devotion and love for the human race to be doing such a gracious job. Thank you for keeping us on your distribution list! Haiti is amazing. I have never been so hurt in my life to see the poverty there. No one should have to live like that! The air reeks, automobile exhaust is unbelievable, sanitation is poor, Rocks (big ones) are in the roads and street everywhere, litter and garbage covers the ground like a carpet. How can the elite enjoy their wealth if they can't take a cup of coffee or tea in their garden because the air is so wretched? There are few toys for the children. Health care is terrible. This isn't just in a few places but in every neighborhood of Port au Prince or Petionville on every street, every side street, every alley, every sidewalk, everywhere. This is just the beginning. But there are bright spots. There are many Christians there doing the work the government is not providing: Education, food, medicine, clothing, and love. Thank GOD I have had the chance to have my heart broken and my heart comforted by the sweet smiles and piercing eyes of the beautiful Haitian people. Someday Haiti will be beautiful again. I hope that you will decide to pray for the future well being of Haiti. There is so much they need!

I love my country very much and I am suffering a lot because where I am, you have everything but I missed my neighborhood, my friends. Here, you feel alone. Thanks God , I accepted him as my saviour. Courage brothers in Christ, you will be in my prayer life every day. You are doing a good job. May God in his compassion guide you and protect you. Bondie ap kache nou, kouvri nou anba zesel li. I spent some time in Port-au-Prince in 1991 and then had the pleasure of going to the Cap Haitien For Haiti with Love mission house in July 1992. I was amazed with how missionaries handled the political crisis with Aristide. Through it all, God provided! I was impressed with the For Haiti with Love college especially the teachers and students in the city. I am a teacher myself and found my Haitian experience to be enlightening and it gave me a new perspective on life. The people of Haiti are warm, friendly and humble. God bless your continued, determined work in Haiti.

My sister and I visited Haiti on a mission trip in October 2000. It was a life changing expirece. Since then I have gotten married and am about to have my first baby. My husband is not really drawn to the mission field. But my desire is to return to Haiti one day. I am studing to be a medical assistant right now and hope to be used in that area one day. As soon as God opens a door I will run through it. I am actually doing a report on a culture other than my own in my interpersonal skills class right now. My passion has not changed though through marriage, my vision has been refined. Dear God bless those who have dedicated their life to loving and serving Hatians. I pray that their ministries would be effective and that you would bless them tremendously. I pray for more people to reach out to Haiti and for a greater awareness to people of the conditions there. Lord send out labors to Haiti and releive the bondage of so many there. Please bring maor christians into political leadership there. I pray more people would sponsor children there. Lord deliver from the vodou there. Lord please bring me back there. Prepare me for your work. amen amen amen

GOD BLESS YOU!!!! The church I attend ( Calvary Chapel) is planning another missions trip to Port Bayonnais, Haiti from Friday, February 28, 2003 to Friday, March 7,2003 and the Lord has put it on my heart to go. I can't wait. Last Sunday, November 3, 2002 we had a Haitian gentlman come and speak to our congregation. HOW AWESOME!!!! Several people from our church have been to Haiti and cannot wait to go back during this missions trip. Please pray that the Lord continues to provide for these under-priviledged people (we can only imagine, but I hope to see first hand, Lord willing). I love your site and thank you for all you're doing.

I cannot say how helpful your website is. I find it remarkable, because I seen all the great pictures and organizations that you have put in the internet for those who love their country Haiti. I am always serfing the web looking for news in Haiti. But your work is amazing and I enjoyed reading the proverbs and the pronounciation. Afterall, I took a copy for my folks who have problem with their pronounciation. Anyway, I think if you add some more stuff in there, it will be great because it makes me realize that I am not missing anything in Haiti.I like keeping in track with my lovely country, Haiti which I love very much. I give you a lot of credit for doing such a good job because I know it must be hard to do that, and I will continue serfing the Haiti's web. Thank you and good luck.

My husband Robert and I are going on a mission trip on Dec. 9th, 2002 to Haiti. We will be helping in Cap-Haitian. We will be working in the orphanage with Twila of HopeHaven. My friend that I work with has been many times and loves the Haitian people so much. My husband Robert is an African-American and I am Caucasian. I feel that the people will really warm to Robert as they may feel that he is of them. We are so looking forward to obeying God in His calling to us to be missionaries. God Bless You in the work that you are doing. I am sure with this being my first trip that the faces and the hearts of the people will be seared down into our souls that we will continually pray for their independence toward a society where the poor will be cared for just like the rich, the sick will be made well just like the rich, and the Government will see the work of God in the people's lifes in such power that they will stand in AWE of what is being accomplished for the GLORY OF GOD. God Bless and Keep the people of Haiti.

Travelled to Cap-Haitian with FLO-USA in February 2001. What an exceptional trip. Stayed the week with Hudson and Lucy Hess. It was a lifechanging experience, especially the Sunday morning service at 6:00 am with over 800 haitians packed into Pastor Jacques Church. My how those people could sing. Couldn't ubderstand a word of it, but it was all to the Glory of God.

TRAVELING ON YOUR KNEES Last night I took a journey to a land across the seas, I didn't go by ship or plane, I traveled on my knees. I saw so many people there, in bondage to their sin, and Jesus told me I should go, that there were souls to win. But I said "Jesus, I can't go to lands across the seas." He answered quickly, "Yes, you can By traveling on yur knees." He said, "You pray, I'll meet the need, YOu call, and I will hear, It's up to you to be concerned for lost souls far and near." And so I did; knelt in prayer, Gave up some hours of ease, And with the Savior by my side, I traveled on my knees. A I prayed on, I saw souls saved and twisted persons healed, I saw God's workers strength renewed while laboring in the field. I said, "Yes Lord, I'll take the job. Your heart I want to please. I'll heed your call and swiftly go y traveling on my knees."

In my French class our teachers sister in law came in and she goes there every year to help out. They have organized a school that is going very weel for them. But not all the kids get to go there only the only ones that live by there. The poor children don't get enough of food every single day hafe of the children are dieying because of starvation, and don't have anything to wear. So lets help, we all can't do much but there is one thing that we can all do and that one thing is to pray for the best, and hope for the best for those poor children and there famalies so they would have bread on there table, and clean, freash close to wear every single day! -Inna Trofim

I AM AN AMERICAN FEMALE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED WITH A HATIAN GUY FOR ALMOST A YEAR. IT HAS BEEN A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR ME I MUST SAY; HOWEVER, THIS MAN HAS CHANGED MY LIFE IN MANY WAYS. I HAVE DATED HATIAN-AMERICAN MEN BEFORE BUT NO ONE FROM HAITI. HE IS FROM PETIONVILLE. I BUMPED INTO THIS WEB-SITE BECAUSE I WAS LOOKING ON-LINE FOR COURSES TO LEARN HOW TO SPEAK CREOLE. THAT IS HOW INVOLVED I AM WITH THIS GUY. HE DOSENT WANT ME TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE BECAUSE HE FEELS THAT IT IS INSIGNIFIGANT TO LEARN BECAUSE IT IS NOT ONE OF THE WORLDS MAIN LANGUAGES SUCH AS ENGLISH, SPANISH OR FRENCH. HE DOES APPROVE OF ME LEARNING FRENCH THOUGH. BUT I CARE ABOUT HIM SO MUCH AND THIS MAY BE SOMETHING LONG-TERM, AND I DO FEEL THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO LEARN SO THAT I MAY COMMUNICATE WITH SOMEONE WHO MAY INDEED ONE DAY BE MY HUSBAND. SO NOW THE ONLY THING I AM LEFT TO DO IS LEARN BEHIND HIS BACK!! AM I WRONG FOR THIS? I MUST SAY THOUGH, I LOVE SOME HATIAN MEN. THEY LOVE TO DRESS AND THEY ALWAYS SMELL SO GOOD, AT LEAST THE ONE I'M WITH DOES. THATS WHY I LOVE HIM!!!. ANYWAY I LOVE THE WEB-SITE. I THINK IT IS GREAT FOR THE HATIAN COMMUNITY. I WILL BE RETURNING AGAIN SOON. PLEASE FEEL FREE ANYBODY TO GET BACK TO ME AND TELL ME WHAT THE HELL I SHOULD DO ABOUT THE LANGUAGE THING. LATER.

in 94/95 i was in cap hatian working for brown and root. made many friends and was captured by the hatian experience. i have sat on the varanda early on sunday morning eating my breakfast at the mon joley, over looking cap hatien and the ocean, danced to kazak, and spent many an hour at boby's place. on days off i would go alone into the city and sit and watch and obsorb all the culture and day to day life of these priceless, precious people. the days have turned into months and months into years and still the thought of "my" haiti still burns in my soul and my love for the land and people causes me to grieve often for them. oh how i do miss you. if anyone goes there or knows the whereabouts of boby's place, please stop in and tell them"scott" says hello to bobby, annell, dou dou-clautide peirre, josoline, old man leon, john babtiste, all the carpenters who worked with me at brown and root, hello to meligro fernandez, all the cleaning ladies who worked for brown and root, marrie and shantell, i have not forgotten you and love you all. my one wish and hope is that someday i can return to you my heart and love is with you. a vietnam sholdier told me once that during the heat of battle, bombs going off all around under heavy fire, and fighting for his life his attention was caught by the most beautiful sight of a wild orchid growing in a small brook in the midst of all the distruction and devistation. untouched, and unobserved, indescribably beautiful. cap hatian, you are all of this for me. i do love you so. if any one knows any of these people and their whereabouts please contact me and let meknow.

I know that haiti is a very poor country and they really need help, and america isn't rreally showing any support only to cubans and people out of the black race. The monetary amounts committed to the trajedy have been staggering, even if you only count the amounts committed by the US government. Then you need to add the amounts committed by foreign governments, aid organizations, companies and private individuals. In addition to the monetary support, their is the blood donation, volunteer work, etc., etc.. I do not in ANY way mean to belittle the impact of these horrific events on the victims; nor the sacrifice of those who gave their lives to help others; nor the suffering of the families, friends and countrymen who lost their lives. It seems to me, however, that the generosity which has been devoted to this cause could, and should, be shared amongst those for whom trajedy has been common, pain and hunger have been a way of life, and hope has been a fragile thing. Although the people of Haiti are not alone in their suffering, not by any stretch of the imagination, they deserve the continued support of ForHaiti, and of all those who have supported this organization in the past. I appeal to all readers of this guest book to not forget that there are other people in the world who need your help, perhaps even more than the people who have been affected by the recent trajedy (if only because help for them is so generous and close). Please give your emotional support, your blood, your volunteer work, etc. to the people of New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania; but please reserve your financial donations for where they are truly needed... at ForHaiti, or if you prefer for a similar organization which helps those who are so often ignored. My sincere sympathy goes out to all who have lost friends or loved ones in the recent trajedy. God Bless all those who lend their support to others in these troubled times. Sincerely, JW Cornish A Proud Canadian and Friend to the US and Haiti

It breaks my heart to know Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The people do not have adequate resources to survive and die as a result. I was part of the military force in "Operation Uphold Democracy" in 1995 and was stationed there for six months. I've been all over the world and seen poverty upclose but not as bad as what I saw in Haiti. We basically did patrols in Port Au Prince, but we had the opportunity to do a recon mission in the Northwest region of Haiti. That mission really touched me, we stayed in a convent with a school attached to it and the little boys and girls were so beautiful and full of promise they were so eager to learn, but what I found out latter that usually only one child of a family could go to school while the others worked and did chores. Also, at that time I found out the average income was around $200. a year for most Haitians and it upset me. It upset me that we were not there to help the people but to exploit are governtment polocies onto the people. Hatai is truly a beautiful place and has many things to offer, and I can't believe that we haven't tried to do more, as in, establishing road ways from the rural part of Haiti into the cities center and to form some sort of trade route. I might be rambling, but I believe in what your doing and Godd Bless you all who is part of the effort.

Our group from Sacred Heart Church in Detroit, MI is about to travel to Haiti next month (April). We are looking forward to being back in Haiti. It is my plan that once I am retired to spend part of my time in Haiti working. with so much wealth in the world, how can there be so much starvation in this world? Ayiti Bel! Haiti is beautiful! If you have not had an opportunity to go, you should. If you are unable to go, keep those that do go to be of assistance, in your prayers. Mostly, pray for our sisters and brothers in Haiti for their continuing struggle to obtain what we all want: basic human rights, to be able to work and earn a living for our families, to feed our children and provide them with a good education.

I have seen thousands and thousands people living on dumps and waiting for garbage trucks to arrive so they can scatter some food out for them to eat. It really upsets me to see this today in the 21st century- poverty and hunger.

My wife had been to Cap 8 times and finally convinced me to go. We just got back 1-21-01 from medical mission with the Western NC Conf. United Methodist Church. We have a clinic in Tovar and are reopening Clinic in Latannerie. Words and pictures can only touch the surface to describe the conditions and what these faith filled people of God have to live through every day. Please continue to help and pray for the Haitien people. We took the love of the people of Western North Carolina to Haiti, and we were more than compensated by the love of the Haiti people in return. Hard to imagine that people so close to us have to live like this. Keep the faith!

To see my people suffer makes me cry. I pray that Jah will listen to the cries of the people and have mercy. Haiti I feel is the pearl of the carribean and deserves to prosper. I have always wanted to join the struggle and fight for the justice haiti so deserves. I will pray daily for your mission, and for the justice of the people. Though the wicked may try to destroy haiti, they wont succeed because haiti is protected by the eternal grace of the most high. So I would just like to say keep helping my people. No I can not imagine going with out, and being as poor as the average Haitian. We as a family have seen it first hand. You described their situation well. We went to Haiti in 1998 on a mission trip with adoption papers in hand just in case God moved in our hearts while we were there. Well he did and we adopted 2 children Brother 7, and Sister 5, both of them handicapped and living in City of Solei. They have been a blessing with some trials to our family. They both have accepted the LORD as their Savior and our son wants to be a Pastor and return to Haiti someday. Praise be to our God! We will hold Haiti up in our prayers, may God Bless your work.
