Yearend StatementsEven though the IRS says we only have to send yearend statements to those who gave $250 or more, we are doing as last year and sending to all who gave $100 or more. If you gave less than $100 and still want a statement, just let me know and I will get it right out to you. These are informational and to be kept with your tax records, not sent to the IRS. ![]()
CLINIC SUMMARY 2007
As you can see, most of the activity in the clinic is burns. We are purchasing the burn cream at $16.54 per 400gm jar. This is a major on-going need. We are also purchasing the rolled bandages, the pads to protect the burns and the tape necessary to keep the dressings in place. These items average more than $600 a month. Also purchasing the pain medications to get them through those worse first days and the antibiotics for those who get infected. To have beans to go with the rice, we ship that from here. To have rice purchased in Haiti it runs around $1,500 a month to supplement the food packets donated ($3,000 when we don't have food packets). For the donations we still have to come up with around $7,000 per donation to actually have them shipped to Ft. Lauderdale, on to Cap Haitien and trucked to the headquarters. For the Christmas party I am not going to list everyone who helped, but it would not happen without the Christmas gifts, the efforts personally by so many, and those who gave the funds to make the shipping possible. To the staff in Haiti who start the cooking the day before… it is an exhausting and rewarding job and again we thank them for all of the special effort that goes into this one day of celebration of the Lord’s birth. Reviewing 2007 comparing it with 2006, we were delighted that after a year of being down… the yearend gifts made up enough that we were only 5% down on contributions—you guys are amazing and we are truly thankful for each of you. We gained 120 new contributors to fill in some of the openings left by those who went to be with the Lord or who for reasons for their own reasons gave in 2006 and not in 2007. If you skipped 2007 know that you were missed and we pray all is well in your world. ![]()

Now… on with 2008!Roseline is in Florida as I write, helping get out the year end statements and ordering the necessary supplies. The clinic was very busy so supplies are low. There will also be the organizing of items which have been dropped off as donations—which includes formula from Dr. Fauber and Jeannette Benjamin. This is always a treasured gift for the babies of Haiti. In planning ahead we have requested Rob start the processes for shipping another container (43,000# of black bean splits) and are asking Feed My Starving Children and Kids Against Hunger to consider this part of the Lord’s work in their 2008 contributions of food packets. And as for me—getting you the tax information in a timely manner is a priority as well as the February newsletter so I will ask you prayers for us and get back to my “desk duties” here in Palm Harbor. God Bless you all and don’t forget us as your churches are finalizing their philanthropic international budgets—we need all the prayers and support we get to make this all happen for the impoverished of Haiti. God Bless You—All!!
